Nearly three years has passed since Demi landed nominations for the “Best Newcomber” and “Breakthrough Dj” awards from the annual Pacha and House Music Awards in 2004. It’s been the last 1000 or so days, that bore the seven slammin’ releases on his Deeper Substance imprint, countless hours behind the consoles of the worlds most demanding dance floors, and one massive head of hair..
Demi has developed into a “multi-headed” professional that understands the fine art of keeping at the razor’s edge of sound and maybe more importantly the music business. His “Hydra” like approach is so effective because behind each of the roles that Demi plays in his professional career is the same man that hundreds of clubbers get to meet at his performances. It’s this
natural and carefree demeanor that has earned him the respect and adoration of his peers and fans alike.
His skills as an A&R director for Deeper Substance Recordshave yielded no less than seven releases by the likes of Justin Xara and Shafunkers, as well as the brilliantly produced “Gearbox”
by the label boss himself. DSR is set to be busy in the coming months with several releases scheduled including the highly anticipated rework of Moonface's “G-Kah-Kah” by Demi. As well as
releases by Alex Kenji, Rhythm Code, and a new deep house direction for the label with a cut by Leon Roberts.
If that wasn’t enough he has taken on another project as of recently. The group known as the S.O.S. Collective is the collaboration between Demi, Omid 16B of Sex On Wax and Desyn
Masiello of Alternative Route. Over the past three years they have been turning punters into S.O.S. worshipping monks with their extraordinary performances in London and across the globe as well as their unforgettable Winter Music Conference Essential Mix show
at the Cafeteria in Miami Beach.
“S.O.S. and the live element is very much the direction things are naturally progressing” Demi says. With a brand spanking new S.O.S. CD project underway and a audio and visual show set to be ready in time for the 2008 WMC in Miami, we can expect the London based
trio to take the show to the next level and with a little help from Sasha’s and Tara Morgan’s Excession Agency, to the “sweatbox” (because that’s what it’ll be when S.O.S. is done with it) near you.
Demi has quietly made the transition from local underground superstar into a sustainable global dj in a relatively short time and if his career continues to build with similar intensity it
will surely take him to yet another level.
