EG 065 - Anil Chawla & Dale Anderson
Anil Chawla
In 2008, Anil Chawla cemented his reputation as one of the UK’s most hotly-tipped electronic DJ / producers of recent years and with the February 2009 release of Anil's highly anticipated debut artist album 'Roadhouse' (with Dale Anderson) on the world renowned Global Underground... the next 12 months look set to catapult this superlative talent further up the clubbing ladder.

Indeed it’s been quite some year for Anil with globetrotting dates around the planet, taking in Russia, Ukraine, Ibiza, Egypt, India, Lithuania and Sweden. As a worldwide resident for Global Underground, Anil headlined his very own 2 week sell-out tour of South America, whilst continuing his London GU residency at Ministry of Sound with slots alongside Sasha and Felix da Housecat. Other UK highlights included his debut at South West Four, support show for Deadmau5 and a pivotal role across the poignant Turnmills closing weekend.

2008 was also a massive year for Anil with a flurry of critical nominations. First up was his recent nomination as 'Best Breakthrough DJ' in DJ Magazine’s yearly Best of British poll. Then there was his ‘Best Artist’ nomination in the prestigious Beatport Awards, together with victory in the ‘Deep House Track of the Year’ category for the GU-signed ‘Leftorium’ (collaboration with partner Dale Anderson). Furthermore, Anil was shortlisted to host Radio 1’s ‘In New DJs We Trust’ show and in November, he recorded a guest mix for John Digweed's renowned 'Transitions' radio show.

Having exploded onto the world scene in 2004, the past four years have seen rapid growth to Anil’s already illustrious career, and with heavy support for his productions coming from Sasha, Digweed, Tong, Garnier, Cattaneo, Angello, Zabiela and Fanciulli, his deep melodic-funk and freaky-acid house sounds are amongst the most sought after in electronic music.

Anil’s early productions ‘Purple Fruit’ and ‘Jurassic Car Park’ swiftly caught the attention of the music masses and built him a reputation as a producer of the highest calibre. In 2005 he hosted his very own 2 hour monthly show for Ministry of Sound Radio and it was here that his sound was heard by millions of listeners who swiftly became devotees to his unique style.

Remixes on Duty Free and Whoop soon followed, and his releases began featuring on cult compilations such as GU Unmixed, Renaissance and Underwater. His profile was further enhanced with massive coverage across various musical journals including DJ Magazine, Mixmag and i-DJ; all of whom were overwhelming in their support for his tech laced rhythms. Further success has since followed with a series of productions released on such highly respected labels as Saved, Cr2, Kill Brique, Vapour and of course Global Underground. Anil’s forward thinking grooves and cutting edge beats have singled him out as one of music’s brightest stars, and support from the highest factions continues with every outstanding release. Forthcoming in early 2009 are remixes on Whoop, Forensic, Sound of Acapulco and Subversive, with an EP set to drop on Vapour Recordings.

And so we come to ‘Roadhouse’ - Anil’s highly anticipated debut album on Global Underground. The LP is one of the most eagerly awaited releases of early 2009, and features collaborations with acid house legend Justin Robertson and former Bizarre Inc vocalist Angie Brown. Having already released six original tracks and three remixes for the GU imprint, the LP is set to catapult Anil further into the world’s musical senses with a rich and diverse mix of tracks expected across the electronic spectrum. The past four years have been nothing short of spectacular for Anil... and in 2009; life is set to get that little bit crazier. Watch this space.

Dale Anderson
His profile as both a Dj and producer has never been more recognizable than it is today.

From his highly touted production efforts with one of the planet's most credible dance music labels - GLOBAL UNDERGROUND - to his Dj work in North America, Europe and beyond, Dale's ability to move a dancefloor from the Dj booth to the recording studio is clearly evident.

A Dj for more than ten years, Dale has been fortunate enough to play with many of the world's finest at infamous club nights such as SLINKY, RENAISSANCE, AND THE GALLERY.

Dale's music has received praise from the music press (M8, MIXMAG, DJ MAG etc.) and landed him several spots on MTV, as well as various radio stations around the world. Having shared the decks with PETE TONG, NIC FANCIULLI, and JAMES HOLDEN to name a few, Dale's skill and sound is defined by his versatility. And now as Dale joins the elite ranks of the GLOBAL UNDERGROUND WORLD TOURS Dj roster, he will continue to bring this sound to dancefloors across the planet.

On the production front, this year saw the release of Dale's biggest track to date ''LEFTORIUM'' (in collaboration with Anil Chawla) on global underground. The track featured on GU AFTERHOURS III, and not only reached the top5 of the Beatport best sellers of 2007, but remained in the top 100 for more than four months. And with support from the likes of ROGER SANCHEZ and HERNAN CATTANEO, it firmly established Dale as an up - and - coming producer to watch for. And Dale has continued to build the relationship with Global Underground, delivering a further eight productions in the span of six months, and most recently signing on as one of a select few to do a full - length, all original GU ARTIST ALBUM for the legendary label (due out 2008).

Dale's other production credits include 2005's massive 'DRIFT AWAY' (which PAUL VAN DYK announced to the world was one of his ''tracks of the year''), and it's 2007 follow up ''RUNAWAY''which has been getting a good hammering by OAKENFOLD, PVD, and TIESTO.

Further tracks such as ''MAKES ME FEEL'' (as featured on NIC FANCIULLI'S RENAISSANCE) and ''Disco Stew'' have become dancefloor favourites with support from the likes of DIGWEED and MAX GRAHAM, and last year's ''THE MORE I KNOW'' found a home in the record boxes of SASHA, ANTHONY PAPPA, and NICK WARREN, amongst many others.

Add to this, officially sanctioned remixes for HYBRID, ADAM FREELAND, and TALL PAUL (which garnered much attention and RADIO 1 plays from PETE TONG), plus more than ten compilation signings to GLOBAL UNDERGROUND, RENAISSANCE, and ARMADA, and there really is no doubt that things are set to get bigger and better.

Stay tuned...
