Although her music background began at an early age, Rebekah Aff got her start with techno and house music in New York City in 2002. Having been exposed to and inspired by the close-knit minimal techno scene there, she purchased her own turntables and began spinning regularly at Galapagos and for the penetr8 parties which were held in the Chinatown club Canal59, and which were supported by the local NYC DJs such as Dinky, Magda, Troy Pierce and Plexus.
A year later Rebekah moved to Berlin in order to continue DJing in a city with affordable rent, fewer restrictions and a larger music community. Rebekah soon began playing for the infamous BEATSTREET parties and secured a summer residency at Club der Visionaere, which has proven to be her most influential and inspirational practicing ground. She now has a bi-weekly night of her own at Club der Visionaere called 'Night Owl.'
In the summer of 2005, Rebekah came in contact with Richie Hawtin. He was in need of a new 'encoder' to digitalize his records and she was in need of a job. Rebekah has not only worked for Rich encoding his records, but also for the label itself and has been heard warming up for Minus parties at clubs in Berlin as well as other European countries: Arena Club, Weekend, Popkomm at Watergate, Zen Club, Barcelona during Sonar Week, at Paradiso, Amsterdam at the 5 Days Off festival, at Fabric, London for the first 10 Year Anniversary Minus Showcase party, Sunday Adventure Club, and as the supporting DJ for the Berlin CONTAKT event at Columbiahalle.
Over the last two years Rebekah has become known for her position as a Minus warm-up DJ, but it is her continuing experience from Club der Visionaere that one hears most in her dj style and record selection - from minimal to deep house and Detroit with a mix of dub and the funkier side of techno.
Rebekah is currently working on her own production.
