EG.082 Tim Davison
From Argentina to Siberia, from Belgrade to Bogota, and from London to Liverpool... all these and many more of the world's most discerning dancefloors have experienced the sound of Tim Davison in 2008. With his debut album already under his belt and a host of new productions waiting in the wings, 2009 looks set to be the best year yet for the London-based DJ and producer who has become one of the hottest properties to emerge from the UK dance scene in recent times. His signature style of melodic house and tech beats is a much-needed breath of fresh air - atmospheric but groovy, and uplifting without being saccharine.

As a producer, Tim has become a firm favourite with many of the world's leading DJs and can count Sasha, James Zabiela, Hybrid, Jimmy Van M, Nic Fancuili, Hernan Cattaneo, Paul van Dyk, John Digweed and many more as regular supporters of his music. As you'll no doubt know, his remixes of Underworld, Leftfield and, in particular, an incendiary reworking of The Chemical Brothers' 'Hey Boy Hey Girl' have become anthems played at open-air festivals and underground parties alike across the world.

Tim first came to prominence on the London scene when he was selected by Dave Seaman and Nick Warren as one of their Gallery 'Future Heroes' in 2003. Since then he has played regularly at the Gallery at Turnmills and more recently the Ministry of Sound. His production portfolio makes pretty impressive reading now too with approaching 50 productions and remixes to his name on labels like Global Underground, SOG, Plastic Fantastic, Babylon, Heavy Rotation, Re*Brand, Method, Observe, Baroque, Red Light District, Rapid Response and Vapour. Over a dozen of these have been licensed to compilations including a Quivver mix album for the Ministry of Sound and compilations from Seb Fontaine, Max Graham and D-Nox.

May 2008 saw the release of Tim's debut album, the 12-track 'Long Way from Home' on Baroque Records, to much critical praise and DJ support. "I'm really into Tim's stuff," says Hernan Cattaneo, "all his tracks work really well." Paul van Dyk is equally enthusiastic: "Recently you can hear Tim in my sets again and again." Clubbers have caught onto his sound too with his DJ skills increasingly in demand and DJ magazine described Tim quite simply as "one of 2008's brightest stars."

The last 12 months have seen Tim criss-cross the globe taking in Argentina, Colombia, Indonesia, Serbia, Lithuania, Ukraine and over a dozen dates in Russia, as well playing at some of the UK's cooler club nights. Highlights include playing to a packed crowd at Crobar in Buenos Aires and a headline set at the Globass festival in Siberia. Already lined-up for 2009 are a return visit to South America, trips to India, Switzerland, Finland and the Netherlands, and his debut at the renowned Stealth in Nottingham.

There's plenty happening on the production front too with Tim's recent remix of Cevin Fisher's 'You Got Me Burning Up' for Subversive Records and his interpretation of the Primal Scream classic, 'Come Together'. Future projects include a remix for Hybrid from their new album and commissions for Global Underground, while he's currently working on another seminal Cevin Fisher track, 'The Freaks Come Out', and The Chemical Brothers are getting the treatment again with 'Block Rockin' Beats'. Releases are also forthcoming on Marco V's In Charge label, Max Graham's Re*Brand imprint and an EP for Dubfunk's label, Dyami, while Tim will be providing a monthly guest mix for Paul van Dyk's Vonyc Sessions radio show. He has also just start a residency as part of DAT Soundsystem with Anil Chawla and Dale Anderson at the Ministry of Sound, London.
