She attended Full Sail for both the Recording Arts and Digital Media degree programs in 1999 and 2000, and later returned as an instructor for MIDI. Working alongside producers Medway (Hooj Choons), Noel Sanger (Nettwerk) and Pimp Daddy Nash (Eighth Dimension Records), she really put her music production chops to the test teaching 12-hour overnight shifts. She also spent time as an instructor for SAE-Los Angeles, a school for music/multimedia technology, and taught an advanced mixing class for Norcal DJ and Music Production Academy in San Francisco. After spending countless hours learning hardware and software for multimedia production, her skills are solid and creative direction over-the-top. Her skill set includes both analog and digital formats, to help ensure the best music translation from the decks to the people by way of solid mixing and slammin' tracks. She’ll give you something you’ve never heard before, and probably never will.
With the recent launch of Stank Foot Orchestra to house her own productions, collaborating with talented musician friends is top on her list of priorities. Expect hotness in 2009! What’s the story now? Currently living in Los Angeles, Nichole fills in pockets of time working as an Independent Media Specialist. As an instrument, Nichole was busy making mix tapes for parties in middle and high school, and was a band geek, playing the flute for 4 years. As Sparatik, her 11 years experience as a DJ includes a variety of clubs, underground parties and special events spanning across the US as well as Tokyo.
Her musical taste is eclectic and esoteric because she is in a constant state of flux and discovery. Experimenting with many styles such as drum n bass, garage, hard house, hip hop, and minimal techno, the main flavor has always been a form of classic, funky, bumpin’ italo-disco-infused house, tailored specifically to each situation. After experiencing a number of mind-expanding underground parties in New England and Florida in the early to mid 90’s, Sparatik became intrigued and determined, and in 1997 sold her VW Golf to buy some proper Technic 1200s. A fast learner, she was rockin’ her first few underground parties within a year as part of a drum n bass duo with partner Spytek, on four decks. Not long after that, she established her first house residency in Orlando, called “In the House”, and for the next few years continued to play a number of one-off outlaws and events. These adventures involved playing alongside artists such as Rick Preston, Miguel Migs and Skylab 2000. She’s been known to spank fellow DJs at competitions, walking away with cash in pocket. Originally from the east coast, Nichole has lived in a few major US cities including Manhattan, Boston, San Francisco, Orlando, and now Los Angeles....
