Tommi Bass (AKA) Paul-Alexander Jarvis was born in the U.K. in 1968.During the late 1980's he began to study Fine Art, this is when his first experiments with music as part of sound installations.
In 1992 Tommi Bass moved to Wales to start his Degree in Fine Art at the famous Newport School Of Art. This is where he really began to DJ and he was instrumental in setting up illegal partys in the Welsh Forests and unused warehouses. At these parties he would play the freshest Detroit Techno... then later he switched to playing the new U.K Urban sound called Jungle Breakbeat.
Tommi Bass played out in select underground clubs around Wales plus parts of the U.K playing Darkstep..which later evolved into Techstep Drum&Bass. At the end of his Degree in 1996 he built his own studio and continued to experiment with sound.
This is when he teamed up with Mark Stretfield who is the label owner of Rednetic Recordings London.
In 2000 Tommi Bass stopped playing Drum&Bass after he saw DJ Kool Herc perform at the Famous TJ's Nightclub in Newport Wales. "DJ kool Herc blew me away with his selection of funk breaks...it was profound"
This was a period of reflection for Tommi as he begain to quickly build up his Funk collection to play out in music bars and small underground clubs in Wales.
Tommi Played out the Funk and Northern Soul untill he built a brand new recording studio in 2004, this is when he began to produce "Experimental Techno" music again. Since 2006 Tommi has had a constant stream of "Experimental Techno" published on various indie dance music labels.
In 2008 Tommi Bass moved to Berlin to get closer to the "Berlin Techno Sound". Its been a long road of personal discovery for this renagade DJ/Producer and the best is yet to come as he slowly picks up steam in the City he loves with all his heart... Berlin.
