In 1986, Octad [Andrea Kalenda] starts his journey playing as DJ in numerous private parties in Rome, his town, and in many clubs around Italy. From 1986 to 1992 he's been playing different styles such as dance, hip hop, new beat, acid house, house music and so on.

After this long trip through different styles, in 1993 he definitely changed the sound and set his interest straight to Detroit and minimal techno themes. At the end of 1995, in the own studio he produced the first project for his label "Voyager Records" jointly with Remix Records Shop in Rome and the German distribution Neuton. Resulting in his first 12" entitled "Brain Emission EP" in January 1996.

Two years later he found another techno label called: Rough Recordings. During all these years he was working in various projects with international artists as well as producing various releases along with DJs and italian producers. In 2005 he moved to UK for join his friends Karel and Phiorio with the idea to build up a netlabel together, then called after a brainstorming in a pub in London: Metroline Recordings. One year later after its creation, he's involved again in the birth of a new minimal techno and tech house oriented label: Metroline Limited.
