Nick's early releases on the Nottingham based Shrink and SheWolf Music imprints saw him develop a sound that was both organic and nostalgic. His low-slung groover 'Daphadandilly' achieved wide support, despite being released only digitally, and has since appeared on Matt Tolfrey's mix compilation for 1trax. Nick's collaborative works with Matthew Burton has seen them both explore different corners of house music, breaking the typical methodologies they normally adhere to with their solo efforts. Their first two releases together, 'Mischievous Mustache' (2009) and 'Playdo' (2010), appeared on MultiVitamins and Leftroom offshoot Left’d respectively. After both featuring on another Left'd release with 'Snuff It' (2011), the pair continued with their groove-laden warehouse style music in the shape of the moody Tech House track 'Gruff It' (2011) released on Visionquest. They are now preparing for their re-release of Playdo – this time on Leftroom – which now finds its way on to vinyl along with remixes from Inxec, Laura Jones and Tolfrey & Russo. Nick’s Dusty Shelf Dub Mix will be released at the same time on digital.
In 2009, Nick and Matthew broke out of the studio and put their heads together to form Busta Groove. This paved the way for the pair realise a mutual objective to run their own night that encourages guest DJs to dig deep into their collection and present quality deep music far into the early hours without the predictabilities normally expected of other House and Techno nights. August is set to be a busy month for Nick with a full EP on Morris Audio set to land as well as the Playdo re-release. The EP sees two of the label’s favourites in Iron Curtis and Huxley on remix duties. Other forthcoming releases include the long awaited Take Me Away collaboration with Matthew Burton on Fear of Flying, including remixes from Schatrax and BLM, and a solo EP on another Nottingham based label, Back To You.
