Brooklyn born Jimmy started to fiddle with the knobs and faders of the mixer back in the late 90’s after he fell helplessly in love with house and techno. Growing up in NYC meant he was able to experience some of the most legendary clubs such as Vinyl, Twilo, Tunnel, etc.
Those late nights/early mornings had a huge influence on the way he plays his music. Much like the old school New York DJs, Jimmy doesn’t limit himself to a single sound or time. His genre crossing sets include elements of soulful house, groovy disco, dark techno and everything in between.
After making the transition from being a club-kid to a DJ, Jimmy has played at some of the best venues in LA including a residency at Avalon, Vanguard, King King, Standard rooftop and other underground parties. In the summer of 2010, Jimmy and his fellow DJ cohort Bas launched “Plastic Love” where they feature events and podcasts of distinguished global artists that let the music speak for themselves.
While DJing is Jimmy’s first commitment, he also started to use his creativity in the music studio. His first release “Space Jam” featuring a remix by the esteemed Matt Tolfrey is out on Damian Lazarus’s Crosstown Rebels sub-label, “RebelLion”. However, it’s not the first time Jimmy’s studio work has caught the attention of such esteemed artists. Jimmy’s edit of “While You Were Sleeping” was included in DJ Vibe’s Underground Sound of Lisbon compilation.
The future holds many exciting projects for Jimmy and he will definitely be seen fiddling with the knobs and faders of the mixer for many more years to come.
