We all have a mission in life. Our destiny is influenced by the decisions we take and our actions in previous lives. There is something beyond our understanding, something that encourages us to fulfill our mission in this world, because nothing happens by chance in this universal plan.
This is how it is for Pancho Piedra. He belongs to the fourth generation of a family that has been bound in soul and body to the radio, a vision and mission that started with his great grandfather, José Antonio Cardoso, over 50 years ago. Pancho was practically born in a radio station; music, voices, silence, recording studios, vinyl records, all of these make up his natural habitat and are as natural to him as flying is to a bird.
At an early age, he started to develop in this environment. When he was 10 years old, he already knew how to operate the equipment and from time to time his father would let him take control and schedule the music he liked. Maybe Pancho did not realize, but that was the time when he started his career as a DJ. As the years passed, he got his own program and his liking for electronic music started to evolve, so he investigated more and more deeply into this world of sounds.
This is how he started to carve out his own future, fulfilling his destiny with a road that had already been laid in his genes. He has not stopped; as a DJ he plays at the main parties in his country and abroad, conquering the dance floor and displaying his talent both in his country and outside. He has been the resident DJ for more than 7 years on the mythical beach at Montañita.
As an event promoter, he has brought the freshest electronic sounds in the world, turning his native city, Cuenca, into a point of reference in Latin America.
He has played with some of the most acclaimed DJs in the world and his performances have been praised by the big names in the electronic music circle, creating a relationship of mutual respect with artists such as: Damian Lazarus, Mr. C, Adultnapper, Jamie Jones, Seteve Bug, Jamie Jones, Tiefschwartz, Martin Buttrich, Konrad Black, Ryan Crosson, [a]pendics.shuffle, Matt Tolfrey, Shaun Reeves, Jeremy P Caulfield, Seph, Jorge Savoretti, Jonas Kopp, to name just a few.
Now, Pancho Piedra is focused on producing music with characteristic sounds of the Ecuadorian and Andean culture. He is part of the Adjunct Audio record Label, and he realsed an Ep in 2011 called San Bartolo.
