Dory hails from just outside Chicago but has had trouble staying put. Over the past 10 years she has called the Windy City home, along with San Francisco, Miami, Los Angeles and Zurich.
Classically trained in piano, she first started DJing at Northwestern University's WNUR-FM and kept a relatively low profile until 2006, when Desyn Masiello discovered her through a mix CD, one which he said in a recent interview was "one of the best he has ever heard." Since then Dory has rocked dance floors from Europe to the South Pacific, consistently winning over new fans with her intelligent blend of groovy house and techno. She has been also been on resident duty for U.S.-based Listed Productions, creator of the famed Freaky Tikki party in Miami, from which the recording for this podcast was drawn.
Dory now lives in New York City and has been keeping busy with mix duties for Faciendo, a global collective headed up by Desyn and a handful of established and emerging DJ/Producers. Faciendo, which is launching the first of its events in London this weekend, broadcasts twice a month on 16 international major FM & online stations including:
