Richie Hawtin unveils his new audiovisual show, CLOSE (Video)

To be premiered next April at the Coachella Festival.

Techno icon Richie Hawtin just announced his new project, CLOSE. Also, he added a series of worldwide performances during this year.

The 75-minutes audiovisual presentation will feature the Canadian artist surrounded by micro cameras through all the stage, bringing the audience closer than before to Hawtin’s intuitive gestures.

Over the past few years I’ve been increasingly interested in bringing more transparency into the art of DJing and a creative process that is often misunderstood. My new show, CLOSE – Spontaneity & Synchronicity, explores my relationship with the performance technologies that I have chosen to use in order to allow me as much in-the-moment improvisation as possible. Using intimately placed cameras this man-machine relationship unfolds onscreen in real-time. CLOSE will bring you, the audience, closer to me and my creative process live on stage”, he commented.

The first show will be taking place at the Coachella Festival on April 14th, followed by Movement Detroit on May 27th.

Watch below Richie Hawtin’s CLOSE teaser and confirmed tour dates.
